Success Stories from Gold Buying Girls

Christy M

After having my second child I began to search for the perfect part time job that allowed me to work from home and give me time with my children. After attending a Gold Buying Party and meeting Amy Robinette I knew this was what I had been looking for. "I enjoy my job! I give people BIG money. My biggest surprise as working as a Gold Buying Girl is that I am making more money that I was making as a full time teacher and  I'm only working part time hours!! This job gives me the time I want and need with my family." I am originally from Louisiana so when I go home to visit my family I can also do parties there.

The Gold Buying Girl has been an awesome avenue for me to earn extra money.  I'm a 4th grade teacher by day,  and a Gold Buying Girl by night.  I have met so many people,   heard  lots of stories (some that have made me cry), and I have earned a significant amount of money.

I was born in Kansas and moved here when I was in Kindergarten.  I married my high school sweetheart, Ren, and we have 2 children (Ryan and Morgan) and 1 furr baby, Zoey.  I am a published author and love to write children's books.

This has been the best thing that has happened to me as far as a way to meet people and earn extra "fun" money.

I started with Gold Buying Girl in April of this year not having any idea how truly amazing this opportunity would be. I have searched for years trying to find an opportunity that would allow me to have balance in my life. For me balance is about making a profit but also making my boys baseball games!! I have found that balance with Gold Buying Girl!!! I actually make money, pay people to party and cheer my boys on at every game!!!

I LOVE Gold Buying Girl and the endless opportunity it offers to be successful!

Michelle S.

I love being a Gold Buying Girl.  I love writing checks on the spot, not harassing people for sales and doing something fun while I am technically working.  The payoff is also pretty nice. You can really make some great money if you work at it.

I have been a GBG since May 2011. When I first went to a GBG party myself, I thought this company was too good to be true..…pay money for people’s old, broken and unwanted jewelry, such an awesome concept.  Instead of going to a party and writing a check for something you really didn’t need (but felt obligated, because you support your friends) you left the party with a check!!  Before I knew it was so busy with people calling me to book parties I was able to quit my full-time corporate position and work for myself being a GBG.  It has been such a rewarding job and I love the fact that I can make my own hours and work as much or little as I want.  I have since been able to “grow” my down line business into 18 ladies all over the US and Canada.  I am so thankful that I went to a GBG party in March and became a part of this wonderful company.  I am now living the life that I used to always DREAM about.

I had a successful career in corporate America less than 2 years ago.  When I was first introduced to Gold Buying Girl in December of 2010, I thought it would be a fun way for me to earn extra income and pay for my 2 boys private school tuition. I was shocked that every time I had a gold buying party, I earned about $500 and if I did one per week, I was earning over $2000 extra per month.

I quickly realized that I could have my own business, on my own terms with flexibility around my family’s schedule without the added stress of my corporate job.  In March of 2012 I left my sales career to work for Gold Buying Girl full time and haven’t looked back.  As a single mom, I love being able to provide for my family without missing any of the milestones in my children’s lives. Its just an added bonus that this “job” allows me to put a smile on a women’s face or a tear in her eye because she can take her kids to Disney World, pay off debt, or join our team to earn additional income for her family!

When I joined Gold Buying Girl a little over two years ago it was to make extra money as we had retired the year before. Now, I not only make a fantastic yearly income but love every minute of being a Gold Buying Girl. Most of my parties are in smaller surrounding towns from where I live in Whitney, Texas. My husband and I travel together all over Texas and meet the most fantastic people! It is fun at all the parties and exciting when we give the checks out. I can honestly say that everyone is excited and pleased after the party. I feel that I make friends with my hostesses as I am often in contact with them after they receive their hostess check and later as they receive their referral checks for referring friends to book parties. Many of my hostesses have had from 2 to 5 parties themselves!  It has truly been a life changing experience for us. We have had guest screaming, hyper-ventilate and outright crying when they get their checks. One recent example is of the mother who told me the money she received was enough to get her daughters nursing career started, Another just yesterday told me that now she did not have to worry as a single mother about not only giving her two boys a great Christmas but would pay the portion her insurance did not pay for surgery she was having in January.  Now that is great success in my book.

I started with GBG in September of 2010.  I never imagined how exciting this journey would become.  Shortly after becoming a GBG, I was able to resign from my stressful, boring, and negative monotonous full time job and become a delighted, funny, and positive again.  GBG has allowed me to work my own hours, attend my 3 kid’s college games, and feel good about giving someone money for items that are just sitting in a box unused.

It always makes us feel good to hang out with our girlfriends and share their excitement with money that is unexpected, or help someone host a party where they take their 10% hostess fee and pay their travel to and from their cancer treatments, or continue fertility treatment.  The possibilities are endless.  I love, love, love this job; moreover, I love to laugh and watch others laugh, scream and yes, sometimes even cry when they get money.

Susan B.

I started with GBG in July 2011.  I work the business part-time because I am an elementary teacher.  It has been a blessing to me and my family because it allows us to have extra spending money. I can work my GBG business when I want and earn as much as I want.   I’ve always has a part-time job with different multi-level-marketing businesses and GBG surpasses any profit I’ve made from those type of companies.  Plus, I love giving people money instead of selling something! Joining GBG is the best decision I’ve ever made and thank God daily for this opportunity.

Heather L.

I became a GBG after attending a party with a friend. I was immediately amazed at the whole process and how easy it was to make money. The whole idea of giving money to people vs having to sell something and keep an inventory is what drew me in. The parties are so much fun watching how excited the ladies/gents get when you tell them how much you are going to pay them. I was laid off in January of 2012 from a 20 year job and I really enjoy being my own boss setting my own schedule & most of all, no traffic. This is the best job EVER!

I'm so glad I got into this business. I've had a few learning moments but you have that in any new business. My goals are to keep moving forward buying as much gold as I possibly can.

Being in this business will enable me to have a much better future and take more trips with family and friends.

I have that bucket list and I plan to do as many things as I can.....Thanks to the Gold Buying Girl and the opportunity this business has offered.

Amy C.

I started working for Gold Buying Girl as a means to make a few hundred extra dollars a month.  My goal was to make enough money to relieve stress for my husband at his job.  At the same time I started with GBG, my husband became ill.  It took 10 months for him to be diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  By that time, my husband was no longer able to work.  Thank God for Gold Buying Girl.  In 6 short months, I had made enough money to replace my husband’s income.  Gold Buying Girl was our blessing in the midst of our storm.

I was hooked from the moment I met bubbly Amy R.  It was over three years ago I went to one of her gold parties.  Then I had my own open house event.  The more she and I talked, the clearer it became to me that becoming a Gold Buying Girl was the perfect answer for me on many levels.  I had been laid off from my job as an office manager and I also had a background in our family jewelry business.  So I became the 2nd GBG, and had over 150 parties in my first year alone.  I made a good living and met many new friends.  This job gave me the ability to travel at my convenience to see family in Chicago and Miami (even buying gold while I was there!).  I'm glad to be a GBG!

Renee K

While on a visit to Houston Texas to see my best friend from high school, the original Gold Buying Girl, Amy Robinette herself, I had an a-ha moment.  You see Amy had told me about this little business she had started several years earlier and told me over and over again that I should really get involved and become a Gold Buying Girl.  She told me how easy it was, how much fun it was and most important how much money I could make.  The entire time she was telling me about this wonderful opportunity I kept thinking to myself, "oh Amy that's so cute and I'm so happy for you but I'm not interested". I personally hate getting invited to all the Tupperware, jewelry and pantry parties.  With all of the discount stores out there today why do I need to pay top dollar for junk I don't need.

Well on this visit, as Amy and I sat around catching up, the doorbell rang several times and each time Amy would answer the door and walk back into the room with literally buckets of gold!  "What is this, is this real", I asked.  Amy proceeded to explain to me that this bucket was $8,000 worth of gold and this tub was $10,000 worth of gold and how the woman dropping it off had just come back from a 3-4 hour party and that was the gold she had just purchased.  She then explained to me how much the girls were paid for doing it!  Well, say no more, I finally got it!!!  She wasn't asking me to host Tupperware parties, she was asking me to go out in the world and give people money.......who doesn't want that.  I couldn't sign up fast enough.  As I said earlier I've been doing this for a year and a half now.  This past summer my daughter got married and had a fabulous and very expensive outdoor wedding and with the money I made over just a four month period being a Gold Buying Girl I nearly paid for the entire thing.  It's been so easy and a lot of fun because you get to meet a lot of great people and my only regret is that I didn't listen to Amy sooner (and hopefully I won't have to say that out loud again)!

Lisa F.

I love being a Gold Buying Girl, it has provided extra income for my family and is very rewarding.  The only party I know of that gives your friends/family over an opportunity to walk away with extra cash! The best part is paying people top dollar for jewelry/items & experiencing their reactions.  I've seen everything from total shock to crying from the thrill & surprise of how much money they are receiving!

Rhonda D.

After researching many other home based businesses, I fell in love with Gold Buying Girl. I realized that they paid the most to our customers and this is so important in our industry because it only helps me to grow my business.  The trust and rapport that is built when they realize that their check was much higher with GBG than with anyone else creates repeat customers and referrals  to family and friends.

I also saw the earning potential! The GBG that worked my first party shared with me what she earned in 2 months...and the hours she worked her business. I was shocked!! I was making about the same amount, but I was working MANY more hours AND had the responsibility of overhead, employees and all the stress that comes with that. The decision to sell my business and start working for GBG was quite easy and I know the best is yet to come as I continue to build my team!

Jaime C.

In May 2011, I was invited to a Gold Buying party but was unable to attend but since my friend was able to receive a referral fee if I booked a party I booked one. At my own party, I made over $350 in about 2 hours. When others heard what people made they started calling. So, I met the Gold Buying Girl with their stuff and made another $400. On the third trip, I was sold on the idea of being a Gold Buying Girl. I had been approached to sell jewelry, cosmetics, tupperware, and much much more but I wasn't interested in having to keep inventory and always feeling like I was pushing product.

I am a teacher and needed to supplement my income as meeting the needs of three boys seems to get harder the older they get. They are involved in every activity they can find but I love it. It seems that I was always looking for extra work and having to volunteer for extra duty to receive stipends. At one point I was not only teaching but also the cheer sponsor, NJHS adviser, Yearbook adviser, campus technology coordinator, campus webmaster, and still volunteered to teach Saturday school and summer school.

By 2011, I was a GBG and in the summer, when I can have a lot of parties, I make more money than my gross income as a teacher! During the school year I book around activities that my kids have and do private buys in my home. I find that I no longer have to search for those extra stipends and have since changed campuses and given up all the "extras."  Gold Buying Girl is a unique opportunity in that I am not only making money for myself...there is something really cool about the reactions you get when you ask, "how much do you think it's worth" and you get to laugh when they reply, "I don't know, maybe $50?" when it's worth hundreds. You get to have fun, meet many new people, make money, and give people money they may really need for a trip, charity, holidays, or just because.

I absolutely love the opportunity and thank God I was introduced to all the great people that make this company work. Also, this isn't a company where you sign up online and you never really know who you are working with unless they recruited you. I love that I have met and had conversations with the Original Gold Buying Girl, Amy Robinette and know that I can call anyone at any time to get the support and/or answers to questions I may have. It's a great team to be a part of!

Diana R.

I became a Gold Buying Girl because I like helping others and I also wanted to supplement my income. What a great way to do both! I have afull time job as an Assistant Teacher, I sell Avon, I take care of my family and I AM A GOLD BUYING GIRL. I love it! One of my success stories is that of a lady who needed money to go to her father's funeral. Gold Buying Girl was able to provide the money for the bus ticket through her sale. I love that she didn't miss her father's funeral.

Another that stands out to me is that of a man's need of $60.00 to buy
a spray washer. He was paid almost $800.00 for a ring. He could not stop saying, "I can't believe this! I can't believe this! Now I can even goto Mexico to visit my family which I haven't seen in years." I, a Gold
Buying Girl, am very happy to have helped him see his family. He got his sprayer and then some!

Working at the school, I feel lucky to help many teachers who are in need of money but don't want everybody to know. They take me a baggy with jewelry, I call them later that evening with amount, and take them the check the next morning. They are usually so relieved that they got the money and nobody knows what they had to do to get it. Teachers don't get paid much and I am glad to say, "Private Buy."

THANK YOU GOLD BUYING GIRL FOR HELPING ME AND MY FAMILY. GOT NEW CARPET, PAID COLLEGE TUITION FOR MY SON, AND STILL GOING. THANK YOU AMY ROBINETTE.

It was over a year ago when I came into contact with Amy Robinette and The Gold Buying Girl. I am so grateful my life took that path. Previously I was working for another less than stellar gold buying company and was really looking for another better, more professional company.  I envisioned a company that had morals, professionalism, and fairness as three main driving initiatives in their company culture.  I found exactly that with Gold Buying Girl.

Living far from the Corporate Office in Houston, Texas, I thought it might be a bit challenging but I liked the owner of the company so much and admired her business sense when I met her, I was more than willing to try, in fact, eager to try my hand at becoming a Gold Buying Girl.  In what lacked in my original company, I found GBG to be far superior and a welcome for both myself and my clients.

The leaders at Gold Buying Girl are always there for us, if we have an issue or a question, they are just a phone call or text away. Its comforting to know that no matter how confident I am in my job and how much I know, if I have a question, I can simply just reach out and it will be answered.  Always.

I began buying gold to help my family as a supplemental income.  In the beginning it was just that.  And if that fact alone stayed the only reason I did it, it was a great move.  Working for Gold Buying Girl has helped us through some very hard times.  As many in this country are struggling for different reasons, we were doing the same.  However, my reasons for continuing to work for GBG grew-it wasn't only about the money anymore.  I have cultivated relationships with so many people as a result of what some could view as a straightforward task; buying gold.  So, you buy gold.  It's a one time transaction, right?  No.  Not even close.  We form friendships and relationships with our hostesses.  I currently have several people in my address book who I solely met through being a Gold Buying Girl.  We text frequently.  Checking in on one another, saying hello, and still, 'Hey Jenn, I have a friend who wants to have a party, can she call you?'.  Yes!!

Sometimes in life we ebb and flow; things are up and then they go down.  But when you are down, there's only one way to go and that is up.  I love my role as a Gold Buying Girl because it allows us to live our lives, it provides freedom, and the company culture is one of support and fairness.  It very much matches who I am as a person and is I think why I was so drawn to this company.  It's really not just buying gold; its helping people when they least expect it.  It's making someone's day and answering a prayer they didn't know we could answer; even if for only that moment in time.  It's forging friendships and on this wild path of life, with all the crazy twists and turns our journeys may take, that is a very positive thing.  Our company is a wonderful one which stands on integrity and honesty.  Sometimes in the gold business that's a tough thing to find.  My family, my friends, my clients, and myself....I am very glad I found it here in The Gold Buying Girl.

One year ago, October 16, I signed on as a Gold Buying Girl!  I will never forget explaining to my husband who had been out of town when I had my Gold Buying Girl Party, that this is what I wanted to try!  I had received a check for $714.00 he had guessed $50.00! I knew that he would have questions, and I had to have the answers.  Guess they were they right ones.

There are so many heartfelt stories about different people that I have bought from it is so hard to not tell about all of them!  I have seen women laugh, scream, cry, literally jump out of their chair and run around the room.  At one of my first parties my hostess asked can you stay just a few minutes more someone called and is one her way, she was not going to come at all and changed her mind.  She came in put the baggie down and said here honey here is my JUNK!  I said ok…they were visiting…I sorted, tested, explained as I went along.  When I asked her what she thought she had in her “junk baggie” she said maybe $25.00, I asked her how $525.00 she started crying (she was the first I had cry) I told her it was ok she didn’t have to sell if she didn’t want to, I understood.  She said no you really don’t understand, this means my husband and I can fly to see our first 2 month old granddaughter! Ok so then we were all crying!  I so much rather hand someone a check and see the smile on their face than to ask them for a check for a product.

I have been married for 25 years, have 3 boys, 23, 18 and 16.  I have a full time job, involved in church, 4-H and baseball with my boys.  I am a very lucky to have such a supportive family.

I love being a Gold Buying Girl!

Thank You for the opportunity of a lifetime!

Cessna F.

My reason for joining The Gold Buying Girl is... After a unexpected move to Texas I had to leave my previous gold buying company as I was unable to work with the company in Texas. I really loved the gold party business and was very successful with my previous company. As a SAHM I did not want to go back to a full time job so I decided to give gold parties a try in Texas. I researched several companies and felt that The Gold Buying Girl would be a perfect fit for me and my family. I am very happy that I am a part of the GBG team!

Kim L.

I became a Gold Buying Girl to simply add a few more dollars to our savings. I like the flexibility & no quotas to maintain. It's also been great to meet new people & bring a few tears of joy when you tell them their junk was worth lots of money!

Robin R.

I met Dorothy (GBG recruiter) when she had a booth at our school's annual Market Day. After selling some items there, I decided to have a party. I don't honestly know who I was more excited for - me, or all the friends who made SO much more money than they dreamed they would. It was so fun, and I loved it!!!
I am a single mom, and getting ready to send my youngest of three children to college next fall. I currently work two jobs - I am a school secretary and I also type medical transcription. Come May 31, I will be losing a substantial amount of monthly income - both my son's social security and his child support. At the same time, my expenses are going to increase as he starts college. I have been praying about how I am going to make up this deficit; and after having my party with Dorothy, I thought about it all night and woke up thinking about it the next day, and then called to talk to her about it.
I love people, and I have done party sales before. Many years ago I sold Tupperware and Princess House. I have also hosted every kind of party you can think of. What I love about this business is that you are not asking people to come and buy something - you are giving them an opportunity to make money!!! Everyone is excited. My friends are still talking about how much money they made at my party, and I have already scheduled another party with Dorothy for December 16th for people who couldn't make the first party!!
I would love to start out with a goal of a few parties a month, but eventually I would love to be successful enough to quit my second job of typing medical transcription.
Dorothy has been great, and I know she will be a great mentor.

Jaime M.

There are a couple of reasons I find this opportunity intriguing. First, when I attended my first party I was shocked to find out that it was as simple as it sounded! I loved not having to sit through a presentation of any kind, getting my business taken care of, and being on my way. I thought the whole process was very efficient and lots of fun! Who goes to a party and leaves with money?!! Second, I was really intrigued by the fact there are not any GBG’s in my area and that I could be the first one. I worked for several years for the state and have contacts in every corner. So, I feel confident that I would be successful in booking parties. Third, I work for myself and do contract work for several of the higher education institutions (my educational background is in early childhood education and reading) so my schedule is pretty flexible. I am married but have no children and my husband is used to me doing a lot of traveling! Lastly, Susan and Yvette have really been great encouragers and very informative during training. After training with them at two parties this weekend, I feel very confident in doing the job and know that I will learn even more with experience.

Dena H.

I am mother of 3 and a grandmother of 9.  I work another job and have found time to be a Gold Buying Girl and fit it into my lifestyle.  I bought over $25,000 worth of gold in 3 ½ weeks and earned $500 for the buy back of my kit.  I am so excited!  I am on my way on the Path of Success as a GBG.

Lucette B.

My one and only experience at a Gold Buying Girl Party was very interesting. Lisa (GBG recruiter) was friendly and informative which made for a very relaxing experience.
I have been looking for an opportunity to add additional income to the home as well as find something productive to do. (My husband and I are recent empty Nesters). Although I love this stage of life, I have been pondering what I could do to occupy the time that I had to myself. I have previous experience in the Home Party business and really missed the opportunity to interact and meet new people. After experiencing the Gold Buying Girl Party, I decided that I had found what I was looking for!
The idea of learning the process of buying and selling gold, the opportunity to meet new people and the possible earning potential is absolutely a WIN, WIN for me!
I am really looking forward to meeting you and the rest of your team and thank you so much for the invitation to your 2013 Kickoff event.

Alexandra T.

I have been looking for something to supplement my income for the last few months and being a GBG just feels like such a good fit! The potential to make money seems limited only by me. The trick is to tap into my own circle of friends and acquaintances and let it expand from there. I am out going, funny, honest to a fault, reliable and not afraid of hard work.
I have a wide variety of friends that I enjoy spending time with. This will be my initial group of contacts. They range from Salsa dancers, to fundraising event volunteers, architects, contractors and my own social network of friends. Most live in and around San Antonio, but I have been known to travel to Dallas, Houston, Austin and the Valley for a "fun" weekend trip.
I met Rhonda D., my recruiter, at an event hosted by Cynthia Hamilton in November of last year and then hosted my own event on December 2nd and 29th, 2012.
I believe all these past volunteering opportunities as well as my work ethics will make me an excellent candidate for a GBG. I am also open to the opportunity of turning the GBG into a career. I'd like to thank you in advance for your time and hopefully becoming a Gold Buying Girl!!

Kim M.

First off, I want to say “Kudos” to you for starting and running a successful business! What a dream come true!

Second, I had the opportunity to attend my first Gold Buying Party before Christmas. I was invited through my next door neighbor who goes to church with Jamie Ward. I have to be honest and say that I didn’t want to go and she pretty much begged me. So, I thought - okay, I’ll bag up some old gold and give it a shot. Well, that “shot” ending up earning me over $900!!! I was absolutely mesmerized by the process and the end result. I loved seeing people jump up with shock and excitement!!! While I have never, ever been big on parties much less being a Rep for a company, I knew that this was something I wanted to be a part of. So, I came back home and started doing research on The Gold Buying Girl. I viewed the YouTube videos on the testimonies, etc. and honestly just prayed about it. I talked to my husband and told him that this could be the answer to our prayers and this opportunity could supplement our income. We both have had career changes (not by choice) in the past year that has put a financial strain on us.

I see the great potential in helping others while benefiting myself. It’s a Win Win for everyone involved and the sky is the limit! What do I plan to do with the extra cash? Well, the first $900 I earned, I paid off a credit card. The money that I earned for hosting a party and selling some more gold this past weekend, I plan to use for my Start Up fee. The money I earn going forward, I still have a few more debts that need to be paid (doctor bills and a credit card). THEN, hopefully, I pray that I get the kitchen that I’ve been wanting! It’s going to be about $5k to install new counter tops, back splash and paint. After that – a college fund for my son! J

Yes, I’m totally pumped up about this exciting opportunity! I look forward to bringing smiles upon faces and helping people make money!

Jaime H.

I have to say I have so many reasons why I would love to become a GBG. From the first party I went to and saw the excitement from everyone receiving money or watching others receive money for gold they had just stashed away was so exciting I knew I wanted to be a part of that. I have been to so many Scentsy, Thirty-One, etc. shows and you are always asking people to pay money for items, this type of party is so different and exciting. What other kind of business can you work in and show up to start writing people checks and watching each person leave so happy from the party! This last year I had lost my job and I have been in such a funk since then, becoming a Gold Buying Girl is not only something I feel I could succeed in and be proud of myself in doing, but I believe it would help my family out financially as well which both are a win-win situation and definitely one I want to be a part of!!
I have enjoyed getting to know Yvette and Susan (GBG recruiters), both are great women and I can tell they would be a great motivator for all of us wanting to start up here in Arkansas. Knowing that they would be part of a team I would be on is yet another perk of wanting to become a GBG! When they told us Arkansas had not yet been hit by the GBG's I have to say this was yet another plus side to wanting to become one.
Honestly, I have so many reasons I want to become one, but can't think of any negatives which to me tells me this is something I definitely need to do! The only downside for me is trying to get the funds to start up the business, but as soon as I can figure that out I hope you guys will accept me as part of the Gold Buying Girl family.
